The Atchafalaya Plan and Profile Maps provide a plan view of levee/floodwall alignments together with their corresponding profile elevation plots. The plan view includes alignment classification, stationing, structures, floodgates, and levee crossings such as utilities and cattle guards. The profile view includes the best available existing elevation data, construction reaches, flow lines, and project grades relative to the alignment stationing. A map series was created for each alignment (A-M) in the Atchafalaya Basin System. Each series is divided into individual map pages scaled at 1 inch = 400 feet for ANSI D-sized prints, with approximately 10,000 feet of levee mapped on each page. Existing elevations were derived primarily from MVN survey 08-150C, which was conducted from October 2008 to May 2009. Supplemental data was derived from survey jobs 06-139C, 06-148C, 06-149C, 09-096S, and 11-100S. Project grades and flow lines were taken from 2010 Refined Flow Line series in the published report, "Mississippi River and Tributaries, Atchafalaya Basin, Louisiana, 2010 Refined Project Flow Line, Hydraulic Design, Revised April 2011, Volume 1". Maps reflect best available data as of their date stamps, which are located in the lower right hand corner above the inset maps. Intended use for this product is for reference and analytical purposes only.
