How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice.

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page. Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period. The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request. If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORK: The proposed activity would affect waters associated with the Mississippi River. The project/review area is located on the right descending bank, at about 53-54 miles above Head of Passes, at 20200 Louisiana Highway 23, at Latitude 29.595600 and -89.874400, in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, in Plaquemines Parish.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The applicant (Plaquemines Expansion, LLC) requests authorization to expand the previously authorized Plaquemines liquified natural gas (LNG) facility (MVN-2015-02098-EPP) with the affiliate, Venture Global Plaquemines LNG, LLC, the expanded facilities shall include (a) one natural gas gate station; (b) five pretreatment facilities; (c) 16 liquefaction blocks capable of producing approximately an average of 27.5 MTPA; (d) seven LNG expanders; (e) boil-off, flash, and gas relief systems; (f) one LNG loading berth for ocean-going vessels; (g) one warm flare, one cold flare, one spare flare, and one marine flare; (h) two 710-megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle electric generation facilities; (i) safety and security systems; and (j) other appurtenant facilities. Project implementation would impact approximately 470.2 acres of wetlands and/or waterbottoms.
