Public Notices Overview

ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

WATERWAY AND LOCATION: The project would affect waters of the United States and jurisdictional wetlands within the Coquille Recreation Park project footprint. The project/review area is located on the East side of Highway 1077, located to the Northeast of the intersection of Highway 1077 and Highway 1085 in 3 Section, 7S Township, 10E Range; at Latitude 30. 472434 and Longitude -90.180804; in Covington,
St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.

EXISTING CONDITIONS: The existing Coquille Recreation Park, a 92.83-acre tract, adjacent to the West of the proposed additions currently being evaluated, include completed impacts of 12.65 acres of jurisdictional wetlands. The work has previous authorizations under project numbers: MVN-2009-01622-SY, MVN-2000-00696.

PROJECT PURPOSE:

Basic: Recreation

Overall: To meet current and projected public recreation demand within St. Tammany Parish.

PROPOSED WORK: The applicant requests authorization to expand the existing Coquille Recreation Park onto an adjacent 33.14-acre tract to the East of the existing park. Work should include clearing, grading, placement of fill into approximately 30.39 acres of jurisdictional wetlands, construction of the park addition should include clearing, grading, placement of fill material for the construction of multi-use recreational facilities, and a 2.75-acre detention pond.
