ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

WATERWAY AND LOCATION: The project would affect waters of the United States associated with the Comite River and the Amite River. The Beaver Creek Bottoms I and Beaver Creek Bottoms II project/review area is located on the South side of Jackson Road, at the intersection of Jackson Road and Remes Road in 20, 29, 30,and 58 Section, 4 South Township, 4 East Range; at Latitude 30.6762 and Longitude -91.0386; in Zachary, East Baton Rouge Parish, LA, and the project would affect Waters associated with the Comite River. The Whitten Creek Bottoms I project/review area is located on the East side of McKnight Road, 1.5 miles Southeast of the intersection of LA-959 and McKnight Road in 55 Section, 3 South Township, 3 East Range; at Latitude 30.7407 and Longitude -90.8794; in Clinton, East Feliciana Parish, LA, and the project would affect waters associated with the Amite River.

PROPOSED WORK: The applicant requests authorization to create a wetlands mitigation bank by re-establishment, rehabilitation, and enhancement of spruce pinehardwood flatwood and small stream forest wetlands. Additionally, upland buffer restoration will occur in existing areas of non-hydric soils and/or soils lacking wetland hydrology. Existing ponds will be removed, and wetlands will be re-established in these locations. Features such as trails and transmission line easements will be maintained as non-mitigation acreage. Livestock will be removed from all sites, and hay production activities will cease. Hydrology will be restored by backfilling ditches and removal/regrading of deeply bedded silviculture, where appropriate.
