ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORK: The project would affect waters of the United States and navigable waters of the United States associated with the Mississippi River. The project includes to two different locations, the Point Houmas excavation area and the NEXPERA unloading area, along the Mississippi River. The Point Houmas excavation area is located on the Mississippi River batture, right descending bank, between Mile Marker 170 and 171 (30.132058, -90.930970), near Burnside, Ascension Parish, Louisiana. The NEXPERA unloading area is located on the Mississippi River batture, left descending bank, between Mile Marker 170 and 169 (30.122188, -90.913675), near Burnside, Ascension Parish, Louisiana.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The applicant requests authorization to dredge approximately 2.09 acres of Mississippi River batture for sand material at the Point Houmas excavation area. The excavated sand will either be placed in trucks or onto a barge to be transported to the NEXPERA offloading area which is approximately 1.25 miles down Mississippi River for commercial sale. Approximately 0.79 acers of jurisdictional forested Mississippi River batture will be converted to herbaceous wetlands and matted for temporary workspace for offloading of the sand material at the NEPERA offloading area. The offloaded sand material will then be loaded into trucks and transported to a laydown and stockpile area located at an upland non-wet location.
