ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District and Lake Charles Methanol II, c/o: Southland Environmental, Jared R. King, 510 Clarence St., Lake Charles, Louisiana 70601.

LOCATION OF WORK: Located in Calcasieu Parish, located off Bayou D’Inde Rd., in Westlake, Louisiana, (lat. 30.19477, long. -93.29811), as shown within the enclosed drawings. (Hydrologic Unit Code 08080206, Lower Calcasieu Watershed)

CHARACTER OF WORK: Clear, grade, and deposit fill to construct tank farm facilities in Calcasieu Parish. The purpose of the proposed tank farm, parking areas, access roads, and loading area is to support the existing and adjacent Lake Charles Methanol II facility. The project will be located on an approximately 37 acre tract of land located west of Bayou D’Inde Rd. and will impact 21.54 acres of jurisdictional fresh marsh/estuarine scrub shrub through filling activities, of which 5.94 acres were previously permitted. Fill operations will include the deposition of approximately 248,800 cubic yards of fill material (248,300 cubic yards of earthen material and 500 cubic yards of concrete) as foundation for the tank farm, parking areas, access roads, and loading facilities. Of the 248,800 cubic yards of proposed fill material, 87,000 cubic yards of earthen material and 800 cubic yards of concrete fill was previously authorized. If a Department of the Army permit is warranted, the applicant has proposed to mitigate unavoidable wetlands impacts at an approved and acceptable mitigation bank within the N.O. District.
