NAME OF APPLICANT: Louis Cheramie, c/o GIS Engineering, LLC, Attn: Mohan Menon, 450 Laurel Street, Suite 1500, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70801.

LOCATION OF WORK: Within the Barataria Basin (HUC 08090301); Lat: 29.16861, Long: -90.1525; on and south of Louisiana Highway 1, approximately 1.8 miles east of its intersection with Louisiana Highway 3090, near Port Fourchon, Louisiana within Lafourche Parish, as shown on the attached drawings.

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested a Department of the Army authorization to dispose of material into an abandoned, open water sand pit adjacent to LA Hwy 1. The fill material consists of approximately 201,456 cubic yards of clean, unused material (clean cement) used in the oil production process. The layer of concrete will extend from elevation -20 feet to -3 feet. The concrete will then be topped with
approximately 35,582 cubic yards to an elevation +1 foot with hauled in soil. The soil will be allowed to revegetate naturally. Two 24-inch culverts will be installed in the containment level at elevation of 0.0 feet, then removed after construction. A preliminary analysis has determined that this phase of the project will impact 3.5 acres of nonvegetated waterbottoms.
