Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT:  Mack Energy Co. 3861 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy, Suite 500, Lafayette, LA 70503 

LOCATION OF WORK:  In Bayou Blue, Sections 55, 56, 61, 62, 63 and 64, T18S-R21E and Sections 32, 36 and 53, T19S, R21E approximately 6 miles southeasterly from Larose, Louisiana, in Lafourche Parish, within the Terrebonne Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08090302), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 29.498746 N, Longitude    -90.366814 W).    

CHARACTER OF WORK:  The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to dredge and redistribute fill material, construct structures and conduct cleanout activities in order to produce the Mardi Gras Prospects A, B, C and D.  Approximately 91,401 total cubic yards will be excavated from waterbottoms, of which 74,936 cubic yards will be dredged from approx. from approx. 26.84 acres and redistributed in approx. 23.15 acres as beneficial use. Additionally, approx. 16,465 cubic yards of material will be redistributed via propwash activity in approx. 7.67 acres of open water.  A maximum of approx. 0.92 acres of open water would be directly impacted by the placement of structures at the prospect sites. 

The applicant proposes to avoid additional direct impacts and minimize secondary impacts to wetlands by remaining within existing open water channels and by utilizing marine equipment for dredging activities.
