ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORK:  Along the Vermilion River, Brookshire South Subdivision, located off English Gardens Parkway, located in the community of Lafayette, in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, as shown on the enclosed drawings.  

Location: Latitude: 30.15541° N / Longitude: -92.06413° W, Hydrologic Unit Code: 08080103 – Vermilion-Teche Basin.     

The work described below was partially completed prior to obtaining a Department of the Army permit and was in violation of Section 301 of the Clean Water Act. All legal issues concerning the unauthorized work have been deferred. 

CHARACTER OF WORK: Install approximately 579 linear feet of sheetpile bulkhead along the western bank of the Vermilion River and place approximately 5,580 cubic yards of hauled-in material behind the bulkhead for erosion control purposes.  After-the-fact work includes clearing a 72-foot wide by 153-foot long section and a 43-foot wide by 57-foot long section of jurisdictional forested wetlands.  Approximately 0.2 of an acre of forested wetland was previously cleared with an additional amount of 0.63 of an acre of forested wetland to be cleared and filled. A total amount of 0.83 of an acre of forested wetland would be permanently impacted via project implementation. The applicant agrees to compensate for wetland impacts by purchasing credits at a Department of the Army approved mitigation bank.
