Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: Slats Lucas Aggregates, LLC, c/o Lanier & Associates Engineers, 4101 Magazine St., New Orleans, Louisiana 70115

 LOCATION OF WORK: Mississippi River, right descending bank at River Mile 168, in Section 65, T11S-R3E, near Donaldsonville,       Louisiana, in St. James and Ascension Parishes, within the Barataria Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08090301), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 30.100278 N, Longitude -90.918611 W).

 CHARACTER OF WORK:  The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization for a proposed new aggregate operation in Donaldsonville, LA near the Sunshine Bridge. The marine portion of the project is located outside of the LA Coastal Zone. Barges will be unloaded there and trucks will bring aggregate from the marine facility to the proposed stockpile area. The stockpile area will be located in an approximately 33 acre area that is currently being utilized for cattle farming.  No permanent structures will be necessary for this project. A preliminary analysis has determined that jurisdictional areas may be present at the project site; however, the extent of coverage and impacts is undetermined at this time pending a wetland delineation.

It is presumed that the applicant has designed the project to avoid and minimize direct and secondary adverse impacts to the maximum extent practicable.  There will be no permanent structures necessary for this project.  Existing access roads and ramps will be utilized to access the batture.
