ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT:  Dennis Howze, c/o Sharp Bros Construction 27132 Hwy 22 Springfield, Louisiana 70394.

LOCATION OF WORK:  Amite River, left descending bank, in Section 11, T9S-R4E, at 18417 La Trace Road French Settlement, Louisiana, in Livingston Parish, within the Lake Pontchartrain Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08070204), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 30.276397 N, Longitude -90.943967 W).

CHARACTER OF WORK:  The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to replace an existing bulkhead and to construct a new bulkhead, two wharves and a covered boat shed.  The new section of bulkhead will be approximately 50 feet long. Approximately 96.5 cubic yards of material will be dredged from beneath the boat shed area and be used as backfill behind the new bulkhead.  The boat shed and piers will be constructed by driving piles using a dragline excavator and will extend channel ward approximately 30 feet.  A preliminary analysis has determined that wetlands may be present at the project site; however, extent of coverage and impacts is undetermined at this time pending wetland delineation. It is anticipated that impacts to special aquatic sites will be negligible. 

It is presumed that the applicant has designed the project to avoid and minimize direct and secondary adverse impacts to the maximum extent practicable.  Any further reduction would limit usage of the property and, therefore function deeming the project impracticable.
