ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

CHARACTER OF WORK The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to install and maintain a 78’ 4” bulkhead behind the existing bulkhead; a 30’ 6” x 44’ 7” deck which originates over land and extends 25’ 11” channelward from the bulkhead; a 12’ 3” x 2’ 9” deck extension on the east side which originates over land; two (2) boat slips measuring 12’ x 24’ 6” and 10’ x 24’ 6” with a  4’ x 24’ 6” walkway in between and a 5’ x 24’ 6” walkway with a fish cleaning sink on the west side; a 31’ x 5’ 6” walkway behind the boat slips over land; an enclosed 28’ x 20’ structure over the deck designed for an outdoor kitchen, bathroom and sun room; and a 32’ x 75’ 7” metal roof over the entire deck and boat slips.  The structure extends 25’ 11” channelward where the Chinquapin Canal’s width is approximately 124 feet wide.  No dredging or fill is required.  No special aquatic sites will be affected by this project and no mitigation is anticipated.

The original permit, issued on January 19, 2016, authorized the applicant to install and maintain a deck and two (2) walkways to create two (2) boat slips for recreational purposes.  The applicant constructed the enclosed structure and was found to be non-compliant with the permit conditions.
