How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice.

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page. Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period. The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request. If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORK: Bayou Plaquemine, left descending bank, located in Section 46, Township 9 South, Range 12 East, at 58934 Bayou Road, Lot #3, Plaquemine, Louisiana, (30.279083, -91.251666), in Iberville Parish, as shown on the enclosed drawings, within Hydrologic Unit Code 08070300, Lower Grand, Lower Mississippi – Lake Maurepas.

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to remove an existing 14-ft by 10-ft deck, to install and maintain a bulkhead directly in front of an existing rip-rap concrete wall for erosion protection, and to install and maintain a 12-ft by 30-ft covered boat shed for recreational purposes. Approximately 68 cubic yards of hauled-in topsoil will be placed behind the bulkhead for stability. The covered boat shed will extend approximately 20 feet channelward where Bayou Plaquemine is approximately 135 feet wide at the site location. No dredging or excavation is proposed for this activity. The fill activities will impact approximately 0.010 acre of waterbottoms and no wetland impacts are expected with this proposed project.
