Lane shifts and closures to occur near South Claiborne Avenue and Louisiana Avenue for SELA work

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, and its contractors will temporarily shift and close travel lanes at the intersection of South Claiborne Avenue and Louisiana Avenue for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Drainage Project (SELA).

Beginning Wednesday, October 1, 2014, the left, south-bound lanes of Toledano Street will be closed from South Claiborne Avenue through Magnolia Street. The left, north-bound lane of Louisiana Avenue/Toledano Street will be closed from South Robertson Street through Willow Street. The lane closure is for demolition and water line installation and will be in place until late October 2014.

Beginning Wednesday, October 1, 2014, the right, east-bound lane of Claiborne Avenue will be closed from Amelia Street through Toledano Street. The lane closure is required to tie-into the existing canal at South Claiborne Avenue and will be in place until March 2015.

Beginning Wednesday, October 1, 2014, Louisiana Avenue will be closed from South Claiborne Avenue through Magnolia Street with local access from Toledano Street. The closure is for utility relocations and will be in place until June 2015.
