Addendum to IER 13, Eastern Tie-In, Available for Public Review

Document outlines the Corps’ proposed action to tie in the HSDRRS to the Mississippi River Levee

NEW ORLEANS – Individual Environmental Report 13 Addendum, which outlines the proposed action to link the Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System to the Mississippi River Levees in Oakville, is available to the public for a 30-day review period. After an extensive review of four alternatives to cross Hwy. 23, the Corps has
identified the swing gate alternative as the most reliable risk reduction alternative.

IER 13 Addendum, Hero Canal Levee and Eastern Tie-In, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, is available for public review from Tuesday, Oct. 27 to Nov. 25, 2009. During this time, the public can submit comments and questions which will be incorporated into the final record. The Corps will host a public meeting to summarize the content of the
environmental document and accept comments on the proposed action. Meeting details are:
