NEW ORLEANS -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New Orleans District, has scheduled four public meetings to present information and gather public comments for the Morganza to the Gulf, Louisiana Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction Project (MTG) Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) released December 5, 2025.
A draft SEIS titled “Morganza to the Gulf, Louisiana Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction Project” and appendices, prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, is available for public review and comment for 45 days from December 5, 2025, to January 23, 2026. Comments can be provided at the public meetings described below and mailed or emailed at the addresses provided at the end of this press release.
Four public meetings regarding this draft SEIS will be conducted in Houma and Theriot, Louisiana.
The meeting dates and times are:

These meetings are being held to give the public, interested parties and stakeholders the opportunity to provide input on the new draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for the MTG Project. In addition, USACE personnel will give a presentation about the new draft SEIS.
An electronic copy of the draft SEIS and its appendices, as well as an electronic comment submission form, are located on the USACE New Orleans District web page at: https://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/About/Projects/Morganza-to-the-Gulf/Documents/
All comments received at the meetings, via mail or email, or using the comment submission option located on the above USACE New Orleans District web page will be considered in finalizing this SEIS. Comments must be received by the end of the 45-day comment period. Public comments received, and responses, will be included in the final SEIS. Comments should be mailed to the attention of:
