The West Shore Lake Pontchartrain project is located in southeast Louisiana on the east-bank of the Mississippi River in St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, and St. James Parishes in Southeast LA. The West Shore Lake Pontchartrain Chief’s report was published in June 2016 and the project has been included in the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018.

The New Orleans District has implemented special emergency permitting procedures, to expedite the processing of permit applications for storm-related response and recovery work. Due to the potential for damages and risks to public safety and well-being resulting from the landfall of Hurricane Zeta on the Louisiana Gulf Coast, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District has implemented special emergency permitting procedures. The Special Emergency Permit Procedures now include response recovery from Hurricanes Laura, Delta and Zeta.
