Special Event
A special event is the organized use of public lands for a specific purpose and limited duration, beyond that normally engaged in by individuals or small groups on a day-to-day basis. It may impact the use of public land by others and requires coordination with the project office.

Special Use
Other special uses of public land include one-time, intermittent or ongoing activities by an individual or small group, possibly involving temporary placement of structures, special access or conditional use of public land beyond that normally engaged in by individuals or small groups on a day-to-day basis. Special uses will not ordinarily impact routine use by others.

To obtain a permit
A permit must be obtained 30 days prior to the event date. To start the process, send a written request describing the nature of the event, the starting and closing date, the location or area desired for the event and any other pertinent data to the point of contact at each project indicated below.

A fee may be charged to obtain a permit.
