International Interagency Support (IIS)
International Interagency Support (IIS), formerly known as Support for Others, includes studies and planning activities; engineering and design (including plans and specifications); and construction management assistance and training. A written agreement between the Corps and another federal agency, state or local government is required to transfer a technical mission to the Corp. The work must be funded in advance.
Examples of interagency work might be the Corps removing hazardous, toxic, or radioactive waste from a brownfield site to support the work of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
