Navigation projects are usually maintained by the Corps, unlike most other projects which are locally operated. Corps operations and maintenance involves all of the activities needed to make the project work. These activities range from dredging, day-to-day maintenance, such as trash removal, to long term or less frequent jobs, such as repairing access roads.
