This reach is approximately 39,452 ft long. The work in this Reach involves raising the existing embankment section and making improvements necessary to meet current 1% design criteria via an offset levee enlargement C/L to protected side with wick drains, GT, and no degrade or CB cutoff wall. 1% Design heights finalized @ 16.5 ft / 25 ft.

The work includes raising the existing elevated embankment highway crossing of the levee and raising the existing levee to the 2011 1% project design elevations

LPV-109.02c - US11 & US90 Gates & Crossings
modify US11 and US90 floodgates to 100 yr. el.
US 11 Gate and Floodwall – The project requires the replacement of the existing vehicle roller gate, sill and associated floodwall with a new roller gate approximately 50’ wide on a protected side offset alignment using DOTD clearance requirements and associated T-walls to the 1% design grade of 18.5’. The existing road elevation of 9.8’ through the gate opening will remain unchanged.
US 90 Gate and Floodwall – The project requires the replacement of the existing vehicle roller gate and associated floodwall with two swing gates approximately 38’ wide separated by a column in the roadway median on a protected side offset alignment and associated T-walls to the 1% design grade of 22.0’. The existing road elevation of 9.3’ through the gate opening will remain unchanged.
