LPV-145 - Chalmette Loop Levee - Bayou Bienvenue to Bayou Dupre.
397+80 to 700+97. Construct T-Wall on top of existing levee to 100 yr elevation.
This reach is approximately 30,318 ft long. The work in this reach consists of a new reinforced concrete T-wall supported by steel H-piles to be built on the existing levee. The existing levee will be slightly degraded in order to drive H-piles, drive steel sheet pile for seepage cut-off, and place a stone pad for placement of concrete footing. The foundations are typically embedded approximately 3.0 feet into the crown for erosion protection. Riprap will be placed from the flood-side toe to the protected-side toe for scour protection. The existing earthen levee ranges in elevation 17.0 to 21.0. The floodwall will be constructed to elevation 31.5 for future (2057/2060) conditions. Early Contractor Involvement (construction) will be used in this reach.
