The 15 Minute Topographic maps are created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, for the Mississippi River Mapping Program. Original paper maps were created at 1:62,500 scale, following USGS topographic mapping standards for symbology and layout.
Maps include features such as elevation contours at 5 foot intervals, township sections, major roads, water bodies, parish boundaries, benchmarks, levees, and
revetments. The frame of each map (collar) contains the information on the data sources and date when the map was last published. The coverage area, as shown in the graphic, is the Mississippi and Atchafalaya River Basins within the jurisdiction of the New Orleans District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
