Aerial Photography Index and General Publication Sales Information
Background
The New Orleans District Corps of Engineers maintains an extensive aerial
photography collection in contact print and film negative format, as well
as scanned digital photo files. The Corps acquires this photography in
the course of performing our missions of flood control, navigation, and environmental
engineering. See
background for a more detailed discussion of the photo collection process.
The Photo Index
The photo missions are grouped in date-order under each quadrangle map in which they have
some percent of coverage. The USGS topographic 7.5 minute quadrangle maps of Louisiana are
listed alphabetically. The index available on this homepage is to provide an idea of photo
coverage as it relates to each quadrangle map. The Technical Support Services/Central Files
personnel will perform a more roll and photo specific automated search upon the receipt of a
request. Please contact Technical Support Services/Central Files personnel to view and/or obtain actual
photographs, and for the most recent photo data.
Information About Photo Reproduction Service and Publications
We require that requests for publications and/or aerial photography be made in writing. Requests
can be drafted in person or sent by letter or fax on our request form. In all cases
we require an attachment that clearly delineates with a box or circle the limits of the photo
coverage desired. See detail page for work flow explaination and delivery time
estimate.
