Faculty Members of Colleges and Universities

Title 5 of the United States Code, Part 213 allows Federal agencies to make certain "excepted service" appointments without regard to the traditional competitive processes of the Federal competitive service employment system. Section 213.3102(o) of Title 5 U.S.C. allows agencies to make excepted service appointments to;

"Positions of a scientific, professional, or analytical nature when filled by bona

fide members of the faculty of an accredited college or university who have

special qualifications for the positions to which appointed. Employment under

this provision shall not exceed 130 working days a year."

 There is NO list of specific vacancies available. Faculty member employment is generally arranged based on the availability of candidates and work, and the match of candidate qualifications to available work. All resumes received are forwarded by the CPAC to the Chiefs of the various Divisions, Offices, and Branches in New Orleans District, who have authority to contact any candidate of interest and discuss specific employment opportunities.
