Effective May 25,2020 interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408) has been received and will be evaluated by the New Orleans District. Click here to read the official notice.

Effective May 28, 2020 interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408) has been received and will be evaluated by the New Orleans District. Written comments, including any objections to the proposed alteration, stating reasons therefor, are being solicited from anyone having an interest in the requested alteration of USACE projects. This Public Notice solicits comments only on the proposed alteration of the eight federal projects and fourteen federal easements described below and depicted on the attached drawings. 16-169, Bayou Bridge Pipeline, LLC proposes to construct the Bayou Bridge Pipeline Project

Bayou Bridge Pipeline, LLC proposes to install a 24-inch diameter crude oil pipeline beneath the Calcasieu River, Mermentau River, Vermilion River, Bayou Teche, West Atchafalaya Basin Levee, Atchafalaya River, Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, and East Atchafalaya Basin Levee.  The pipeline would be installed a minimum of 35 feet below each of the USACE projects utilizing horizontal directional drills.

The 24-inch diameter crude oil pipeline would also cross fourteen federal easements.  The pipeline would be installed at these crossings utilizing a combination of horizontal directional drills and traditional open cut methods, and would be installed a minimum of 4 feet below natural grade across the easements.
