ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

Location of Work:  Vermilion River and tributary (West Farrel Road Outfall), between Lat 30.16167°, Lon -92.05667° and Lat 30.15472°, Lon -92.05028°, Section 69, T10S-R04E, HUC 08080103-Vermilion, West Farrel Road, Lafayette, Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, as shown on the attached drawings.

 

Character of WorkConstruct, install, and maintain approximately 220 linear feet (along project centerline) of stone and cellular concrete block revetment, 3,450 linear feet of 10-ft by 7-ft reinforced concrete box (RCB) culvert, and associated drainage structures, all as necessary to improve channel hydraulics and prevent further erosion.  Approximately 3,120 cubic yards of native earthen material would be excavated and approximately 15,615 cubic yards of earthen material, consisting of suitable excavated material and/or hauled-in material, would be deposited as fill.  Any excavated material in excess of that required for backfill or deemed unsuitable for backfill operations will be disposed of off-site.  Approximately 815 cubic yards of limestone will be deposited as bedding material, and approximately 130 cubic yards of stone revetment will be placed at the transition to the Vermilion River.  Approximately 4,966 cubic yards of concrete will be required for the RCB culvert.  Project implementation would impact approximately 2.8 acres of non-vegetated water bottoms.  The applicant has designed the project to avoid and minimize adverse impacts to the aquatic ecosystem to the maximum extent practicable.
