ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: St. Martin Parish Government, c/o C.L. Jack Stelly and Associates, Inc., Post Office Box 53353, Lafayette, Louisiana 70505.

LOCATION OF WORK: Located in St. Martin Parish, Bayou Tortue and Daigre Canal, Section 16, Township 11S and Range 6E, located off Louisiana Highway 31, in New Iberia, Louisiana, (Latitude North: 30.065°N, Longitude West: -91.825842°W), as shown within the attached drawings. (Hydrologic Unit Code 08080102, Vermilion-Teche Basin).

CHARACTER OF WORK:  Conduct maintenance dredging operations within Bayou Tortue and Daigre Canal and place approximately 16,172 cubic yards of dredged fill material within an existing 30-foot wide drainage easement. Dredged fill material would be placed at a 2.0 foot height elevation within the drainage easement. The purpose of the dredging operations is to provide flood protection for adjacent residential and commercial properties. Approximately 11.0 acres of forested wetlands would be permanently impacted via clearing and filling operations.  Approximately 14.6 acres of emergent wetlands and 10 acres of non-wetland waters would be temporarily impacted via project implementation. If a Department of the Army permit is warranted, the applicant has proposed to mitigate any unavoidable wetlands impacts at an approved and acceptable mitigation bank within the New Orleans District.
