MVN-2018-00670-EV

Published Aug. 27, 2018
Expiration date: 9/17/2018

NAME OF APPLICANT:  IGP Methanol LLC, ATTN: CK Associates, Mr. Brian Newman, at 17170 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana  70810.

LOCATION OF WORK:  Located at 18559 Highway 23, on the right descending bank of Mississippi River, approximately 57.5 miles above Head of Passes, in Myrtle Grove, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, as shown on the attached drawings.

HUC:  08090301: East – Central Louisiana Coastal, 08090100: Lower Mississippi – New Orleans

CHARACTER OF WORK:  To install a methanol production facility in Myrtle Grove, Louisiana.  The facility will produce refined methanol from natural gas, water and oxygen feed stocks.  A heavy haul road will be temporarily constructed and will have temporary impacts to 0.65 acres of bottomland hardwood wetlands.  A natural gas supply line shown on the drawings will be applied for by a separate entity and would have additional wetland impacts to be reviewed at a later date.  As shown, the natural gas supply line route is proposed to be approximately 16 miles in length.  The methanol facility, not including the natural gas line nor the heavy haul road, would permanently impact approximately 2.95 acres of scrub-shrub wetlands, 7.28 acres of bottomland hardwood wetlands, and 2.39 acres of other waters.  The applicant proposes to purchase credits from a mitigation bank to offset any unavoidable losses to wetland functions caused by project implementation.
