How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT:  Oak Trace, LLC., c/o Natural Resource Professionals, LLC.,10621 North Oak Hills Parkway, Suite A, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70810  

LOCATION OF WORK:  In St. Gabriel, Louisiana, 2.6 miles northwest of the intersection of State Road 30 and State Road 74, off Knottaway Drive, in Iberville Parish, within the Amite River Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08070202), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 30.295278 N, Longitude - 91.111389 W).  

CHARACTER OF WORK:  The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to clear, grade, excavate and deposit fill and/or aggregate material to construct and maintain a 68-lot residential subdivision to include the construction of roads, drainage features, green-space, sewer treatment and associated utilities. Construction will require the excavation of 4,700 cubic yards that will be utilized on site and the deposition of approximately 2,175 cubic yards of hauled in fill and aggregate material.  The proposed project is situated on an approximately 17.2-acre site and project implementation will impact 0.33 acres of wetlands and 0.5 acres of drainage swales.  

It is presumed that the applicant has designed the project to avoid and minimize direct and secondary adverse impacts to the maximum extent practicable.  Any further reduction would limit usage of the property and, therefore function deeming the project impracticable.  As compensation for unavoidable wetland impacts, the applicant proposes to mitigate in-kind wetland credits from a Corps approved mitigation bank located in the watershed.
