How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: 306 Fleet LLC, c/o Lanier & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc, Attn: Price Lanier, 4101 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

LOCATION OF WORK: On the left descending bank of the Mississippi River at mile point 225, approximately 7.1 miles southwest of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in East Baton Rouge Parish, within the Mississippi River Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08070100), as shown on the attached drawings.

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to install 20 monopile dolphins which will include revetment penetration and repair for a new barge fleet operation consisting of ten tiers that include 4 barges each.  Approximately 1,000 cubic yards of rip-rap will be placed for revetment repair and approximately 0.1 acre of jurisdictional water bottoms will be temporarily impacted.  A permit was issues at this site on March 5, 2015 with the same Corps permit number for a barge cleaning facility to Tubal Cain Marine. That facility was not constructed and the permit has been transferred to 306 Fleet LLC. The current request is for a permit modification from the barge cleaning facility to barge fleeting operation. It is anticipated that the proposed action would have no on adjacent wetlands.

The applicant has designed the project to avoid and minimize direct and secondary adverse impacts to the maximum extent practicable. Any further reduction would limit usage of the property and, therefore function deeming the project impracticable. No wetlands or special aquatic site would be impacted by this project.
