How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORKJurisdictional wetlands adjacent to Perkins Road in Section 61, Township 8S, Range 2E, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in East Baton Rouge Parish, within the Lake Pontchartrain Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08070202), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 30.350929 N, Longitude -91.045159 W).    

CHARACTER OF WORKThe applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to clear, grade, and fill for the purpose of constructing a commercial development.  The project will involve the installation of two commercial buildings (23,005 square feet and 8,012 square feet) as well as associated parking, sidewalks and green space to accommodate each facility.  Additionally, one storm water retention pond with pertinent outfall, a sewage treatment plant and ingress/egress access.  The area will be cleared and then filled with approximately 5,315.95 cubic yards of earthen material, 869.72 cubic yards of soil cement treated base and 818.69 cubic yards of concrete.  The construction of the retention pond will involve excavating approximately 152,000 cubic yards of material.  A Preliminary Jurisdictional Determination has shown that the proposed project would impact approximately 1.64 acres of forested wetlands.
