ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: CCI Port Nickel, LLC, 811 Main Street, Suite 3500, Houston Texas 77002.

LOCATION OF WORK: The project is located on the left descending bank of the Mississippi River, at about 76.5 miles above Head of Passes, at 3607 English Turn Road, in Braithwaite, Louisiana, in Plaquemines Parish, as shown on the attached drawings.

Latitude: 29.8591/Longitude: -89.9713 Hydrologic Unit Codes: 08090100 Lower Mississippi-New Orleans.

CHARACTER OF WORK: A time extension has been requested for work previously authorized which includes dredging for the expansion of an existing dock and work to construct a methanol manufacturing facility and piperack and the demolition and removal of existing dock structures. The footprint of the proposed manufacturing facility has been oriented within a non-wetland area. Dredging, demolition, and removal of existing dock structures shall be conducted by barge mounted equipment. Work conducted within the batture shall be temporary and construction equipment will be operated on mats. No excavation or fill is required within the batture. Approximately 20.87 acres of non-vegetated waterbottoms will be directly impacted and approximately 0.44 acres of wetlands shall be temporarily impacted by the proposed activity. The applicant maintains that no permanent impacts to jurisdictional wetlands are anticipated; therefore, no compensatory mitigation has been proposed at this time.
