Public Notices Overview

How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice.

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page. Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period. The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request. If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: Dean Martin, 3052 Hwy 308, Raceland, Louisiana 70394.

LOCATION OF WORK: In Bayou Terrebonne, left descending bank, in Section 32, T19SR19E, at 1709 Hwy 55, in Montegut, Louisiana, in Terrebonne Parish, within the Terrebonne Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08090302), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 29.424397 N, Longitude -90.567322 W).

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to construct and maintain a camp, boat shed, piers and a gazebo. The boat shed and piers will be constructed by driving piles using a dragline excavator and will extend channel ward approximately 30 feet. A preliminary analysis has determined that wetlands may be present at the project site; however, extent of coverage and impacts is undetermined at this time pending wetland delineation. It is anticipated that impacts to special aquatic sites will be negligible. It is presumed that the applicant has designed the project to avoid and minimize direct and secondary adverse impacts to the maximum extent practicable. Any further reduction would limit usage of the property and, therefore function deeming the project impracticable.
