 Introduction

This documentation covers the gINT template ACE MVD with Rapid CPT 01 September 2012. Several tables are covered, with additional information pertaining to traditional CEMVN undisturbed and general type borings. This allows the user to create boring log submissions equivalent to the historic CEMVN txt file format.

Water_Unit_Wt

Single

Unit weight of water.  Needed for density calculations in lab testing.

Coeff_of_Consol_Factor

Single

Equivalent of Cv = 1 meter^2/year.  For example, ft^2/year would be 10.76391.  Only needed in Consolidation test if calculating Cv50 and Cv90 from T50 and T90.

Depth Log Page

Single

Depth on first page of log in Output Units.  Default is 20ft or 6m for the legal size version and 14ft or 5m for the 8.5x11" version.  Can be overridden for specific boreholes with the Depth_Log_Page field in the BOREHOLE (POINT) table. Feet or Meters

Show Lab Material Descriptions

Boolean

If checked, the lab material descriptions will appear on the broing log. If unchecked (the default), then field descriptions appear in the log.

Drained Threshold Zone

Text

This field is used to determine the threshhold for specifying whether the soil exhibits drained or undrained behavior. This affects OCR, Su Phi', Dr, M, St, FC calculations.  Specify the minimum zone number that drained behavior will be evaluated i.e. if 4 is selected, zones 4-9 have drained behavior.

Max Drained Threshold Zone

Integer

This field is used to determine the maximum threshold for specifying whether the soil exhibits drained or undrained behavior. This affects OCR, Su Phi', Dr, M, St, FC calculations.  Specify the maximum zone number that drained behavior will be evaluated i.e. if 7 is selected, zones 4-7 have drained behavior. This drained threshold is only used by the normalized soil behavior types.

Use Estimated Total Density Values

Use this field to specify that the total stress calculations should be based on the estimated total density values.  If selected as true, it will use the estimated total density values.

This is used to tell RAPID CPT to convert from tsf,  which RAPID CPT uses as its base unit,s to whatever units are specified here (tsf, psi, kPa, MPa).

(ft or m) Depth for the Triaxial test record must match a depth record in the Lab Specimen table.  Must be in decimal format. Two decimals displayed.

Sample Number

Text

Sample Type uniquely designates one of several triaxial tests taken at the same depth.  Valid values include A, B, C, D, and Design Value.

 

When multiple samples are tested as part of the triaxial test, the test results for each individual sample can be reported as Sample Number A – D.  If the individual sample results are summarized using engineering judgment to produce a final summary set of results for the triaxial test, then that summary result should be recorded as Sample Number = Design Value.
