Final roadway restoration continues on portion of Jefferson Avenue

Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA)

NEW ORLEANS – The final roadway restoration is continuing on Jefferson Avenue as a part of the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA) Jefferson Avenue Phase II. In the coming days, asphalt placement will begin on Jefferson Avenue from Constance to Dryades streets and is estimated to be complete at the beginning of October, weather dependent.

“No Parking” signs have been placed along Jefferson Avenue so crews can prepare the area for asphalt placement. The northbound travel lane will be maintained throughout the process. Driveway access will be unavailable for short periods of time as asphalt is placed.

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage & Water Board.
