Lane shift to occur on St. Charles Avenue for work related to SELA

Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District will temporarily place travel lanes on St. Charles Avenue at Jefferson Avenue on the north side of the roadway for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

Tuesday, March 15, 2016, west (uptown) bound and east (downtown) bound traffic will be placed on the north side or west bound lanes of St. Charles Avenue from Leontine to Octavia streets. This traffic configuration will last approximately two months so that permanent roadway restoration can occur on the south side or east bound lanes of St. Charles Avenue.

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners at the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage & Water Board.
