Lane shift to occur on Jefferson Avenue for work related to SELA

Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District will temporarily shift the travel and parking lane on a section of Jefferson Avenue for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

Weather permitting, beginning Monday, November 23, 2015, north bound (lake bound) traffic on Jefferson Avenue from Pitt to Dryades streets will be shifted to the west side or south bound (river bound) roadway. The shift will be in place for approximately three months so that permanent roadway restoration can occur on the east side or north bound (lake bound) travel and parking lane on Jefferson Avenue. There is no south bound traffic in this location currently.

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners at the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage & Water Board.
