NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District will temporarily close Camp Street at Jefferson Avenue for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

Weather permitting; beginning Wednesday, Oct. 21st, Camp Street will close on the west side of Jefferson Avenue for construction of an underground box culvert through the intersection. The closure will be in place until the beginning of 2016. Chestnut Street at Jefferson Avenue will be opened to traffic.

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners at the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage & Water Board.

Project Information: SELA 22: Jefferson Avenue Phase II is scheduled to be complete summer 2016. Underground box culverts are being constructed on Jefferson Avenue from Dryades to Constance streets and on Prytania Street from Jefferson to Nashville avenues.
