Lane closures to occur for sewer line work on Louisiana Ave.

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, and its contractors will temporarily close south and north bound travel lanes on a section of Louisiana Ave. near St. Charles Ave. for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

Beginning, Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 6:00 a.m. and lasting until Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 6:00 a.m., northbound traffic on Louisiana Ave. will be detoured at Prytania St. South bound traffic on Louisiana Ave. will be detoured at St. Charles Ave. West and east bound traffic will flow on St. Charles Ave.

The detour is in place for emergency sewer line repair. Detour signage will be in place and the New Orleans Police Department will be present to help direct traffic.

Throughout construction, The Corps will continue to work closely with its partners at the City of New Orleans.
