Published Oct. 8, 2014

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, and its contractors will temporarily close the eastbound lane of Magazine Street at Jefferson Avenue for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Drainage Project (SELA).

Beginning Friday, October 10, 2014, the eastbound (downtown bound) lane of Magazine Street will be closed at the Jefferson Avenue intersection. Eastbound traffic will be detoured south to Tchoupitoulas Street and back to Magazine Street via Napoleon Avenue. The westbound (uptown bound) lane will remain open through the intersection. The lane closure is for water line installation and will be in place for approximately three weeks.

Throughout construction, The Corps will continue to work closely with its partners at the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans and City of New Orleans. For questions or comments, please call the SELA Construction Hotline at 504-585-2450.
