Tonight’s MRGO public meeting canceled due to inclement weather

Meeting rescheduled for Feb. 8, 2011

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Due to the weather advisory in effect for the greater New Orleans area, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District has canceled tonight’s public meeting on the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet ecosystem restoration project. The safety of the public is our number one priority and possible adverse driving conditions have been reported for this evening.

Tonight’s meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 at the same time and location. The new public meeting date is:

In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the MRGO ecosystem restoration Draft Environmental Impact Statement and Feasibility Study report are available for a 60-day public review period, which ends Monday, February 14, 2011. The report was made available for public review on Dec. 17, 2010 and can be reviewed by visiting www.mrgo.gov.
