NEW ORLEANS, LA – The US Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, is hosting a public meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011 in Larose, LA to provide community members with an opportunity to give comments on the scope of a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS). The DSEIS addresses the Post Authorization Change (PAC) Study that is ongoing for the Larose t o Golden Meadow Hurricane Protection Project, located in Lafourche Parish, LA.
"The Corps is exploring the possibility of stabilizing the existing levee system and looking for feedback from community members and stakeholders on the best methods in which to do this," said Joey Wagner, senior project manager for the Larose to Golden Meadow Hurricane Protection Project.

Informational Open House 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Presentation on the proposed alternatives to be addressed in the DSEIS will begin at 6:30 p.m. The presentation will outline the current scope of the PAC study and summarize the SEIS process. The presentation will be followed by acceptance of oral comments. The Corps is seeking public comments regarding the scope of the DSEIS (e.g. any additional alternatives that should be evaluated, important topics that should be considered and related public concerns).

The Larose to Golden Meadow Hurricane Protection Project is located in Lafourche Parish, LA., about 50 miles south of New Orleans, along Bayou Lafourche between the communities of Larose and Golden Meadow. The current schedule to complete the PAC study report is December 2012.
