The New Orleans District, Operations Division performs routine hydrographic
surveys to monitor local river and waterway navigation conditions. This
information is used as a decision making tool for channel maintenance
operations.
The collected data is processed into MicroStation-format CADD files. The surveys are also very useful to supplement published navigational charts with more recent shoaling and other channel condition data. |
